A friend recently upgraded to mirrorless and gave me their old Canon 4000D DSLR. Here are some photos I took whilst visiting another friend that lives in Berlin.

These photos were shot using a ‘nifty-fifty’ lens - EF 50mm f/1.8. I love the narrow depth of field that the 50mm can give from its wide aperture. It was great for taking portraits of friends.

This is my first time editing RAW files. I’m using darktable, an open source photography editor. It’s rather janky, but after a few tutorials I’m able to use it fairly effectively. It’s annoying how scrolling is broken (without using ctrl+alt+scroll) and the interface looks pretty bad, maybe I’ll get around to contributing to it.
